Care and General Cleaning

Caring For Your Investment

EnStone Surfaces would like to say "thank you" for your interest and investment in our product. Even through changing trends, we believe in the high quality and beauty of our engineered marble composite product EnStone™ as one of the most versatile surfaces in the market today! EnStone™ is made from a blend of crushed marble and limestone mixed with a polyester resin and mineral fillers; the result is a non-porous product to use for most any surface application. You can protect the beauty of your surface by observing the following guidelines.

General Care and Cleaning

EnStone™ is to be cleaned with an all-purpose cleaner. Do not use a cleaner with any small granules which can scratch surfaces. Some brands we recommend are: 409, Marble & Granite cleaner, any spray cleaner, Scrubbing Bubbles by SC Johnson, Murphy's Oil soap, Gel gloss, Norwex, and Lysol Tub & Tile.

Preventing Heat Damage

Do not place appliances with extreme heat sources on EnStone™'s surface. These appliances generate heat in excess of 450 degrees F with minimal shielding between the heating element and the work surface. Examples of such appliances can have or has a bottom-mounting heating elements: George Foreman grills, crock pots, electric skillets, and other appliances with bottom-mounting heating elements. The use of hot pads or trivets is recommended when placing hot objects on any surface or when using a crockpot. Reducing direct heat exposure to your product's surface is important for its protection and your investment.

With the average home water heater set at 130-140 degrees F, your engineered sink(s) will provide outstanding performance under normal household use. Care must be taken to avoid sudden temperature extremes which can cause thermal shock (cracking in the bowl) or filling a sink with ice followed immediately by boiling water, or vice versa. We suggest that you run tepid water from your faucet when draining boiling or extremely hot water in your engineered sink. Additionally, before placing hot cookware into our sink, we recommend you allow the piece to cool.

Preventing Other Damage

For the best care of your EnStone™ product(s), we suggest the following guidelines:

  • Do not cut or slice directly on the surface.

  • Do not drag objects or pans across the surface.

  • Do not place dyes, paint cans, removers, or other sources of chemical material on top of the surface. If one of these comes in contact with the top, immediately wipe it off with water. Even though our product is non-porous, it is best to treat your investment with top quality care.
